This is yet another great article and I want to praise the author for highlighting the deficiencies in the film industry. With no explanation given, I wonder why. Why is this?
How can we explain the simply unacceptable numbers regarding representation in film directors and actors? The concept of a glass ceiling comes to mind. The issue of racism also comes to mind. Gender inequality comes to mind. Tokenism comes to mind. Nepotism comes to mind. The complex issue of who has power, who has privilege and who does not comes to mind. In historical times, we may have termed it the deserving and undeserving. YUCK. Has much changed?
